Day 0 Depart New York
Arrive
at the pier and check in with Holland
America. Board
the ship and settle in. There will be a buffet on board for your enjoyment, then you have time to unpack before the sail away time. It
is a spectacular sight sailing out of New York
Harbor passing the Statute of
Liberty, then entering the Atlantic Ocean as you sail
north to your next port of call.
Day 1 Newport, RI
Arrive in Newport RI this morning. Perhaps a stroll along the Cliff Walk to
see some of the grandest mansions in America-The Breakers, Rosecliff, Beachwood.
In town, shop lively Bowen’s Wharf, taste lobster fresh off the boats. A
selection of shore excursions are available on board the ship for purchase.
Day 2 Gloucester MA
Arrive in Gloucester this morning. Again, there will be a selection of
shore excursions available or you may elect to just explore the town on your
own.
Day 3 Bar Harbor ME
Once the exclusive summer resort of America’s fabulously wealthy, today Bar
Harbor is an artists’ encleve and gateway to the rich natural beauty of Acadia National
Park. A selection of shore excursions are available on board the ship for
purchase.
Day 4 Halifax, Nova Scotia
For ocean scenery at its best, nothing rivals Nova Scotia’s south shore.
Here find craggy coastlines, fabled Peggy’s Cove and the striking German
Village of Lunenburg, so meticulously restored it has been designated a UNESCO
World Heritage Site. A selection of shore excursions are available on board the
ship for purchase.
Day 5 Sydney, Nova Scotia
Named the most beautiful island in the world by Condé Nast Traveler magazine. Two must-see attractions beckon you
ashore; the scenic Cabot Trail, winding between spruce-covered mountains and
rocky headlands nad the fortress of Louisbourg, where costumed soliders, bakers
and blacksmiths recreate daily life in the 1700’s. A selection of shore
excursions are available on board the ship for purchase.
Day 6 Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island
PEI may be Canada’s smallest province, but it’s big on History and
attractions. It is here the the famous Conference of 1864 was held which
resulted in the creation of the Canadian confederacy. Take a walking tour of
the provincial capital and learn the history, do some shopping or perhaps a
lobster lunch. A selection of shore excursions are available on board the ship
for purchase.
Day 7 Full Day At Sea
Enjoy a full day of cruising at leisure. Now is a great time to take
advantage of the many events held on board the ship, or perhaps you just want
to kick back and relax, either way the day is yours.
Day 8 Saguenay, Quebec
Majestic fjords, dramatic rocky capes and picturesque hamlets are all here.
So are artisans of every ilk, from glassblowers to weavers. A selection of
shore excursions are available on board the ship for purchase.
Day 9 Quebec City, Quebec
Is this Canada, or is it France? Oui, it is both-a bastion of french
culture in North America where impassioned Québécois
hold dear their history, language and culture. A selection of shore excursions
are available on board the ship for purchase. We will stay overnight on board
the ship so you may continue your exploration of this unique city.
Day 10 Quebec City to Home
This morning after breakfast, you will disembark the ship as your cruise
comes to an end.
