Popular Jasper Excursions

Jasper Tramway

Take the gondola up Whistler’s Mountain, and enjoy panoramic views which extend 75 kilometres south to Columbia Icefield and 100 kilometres west to Mount Robson

in British Columbia.

Maligne Canyon

Located 11 kilometres east of Jasper, explore Maligne Canyon – a limestone gorge about 50 metres deep, with waterfalls and interesting rock formations.

Maligne Lake

Maligne Lake, located 48 kilometres southeast of Jasper, is the largest of the glacier fed lakes in the Rockies and is promoted as the most scenic of mountain lakes. You can explore it via hiking trails, horseback, or the popular lake cruise.

Miette Hot Springs

A good spot for a soak is the Miette Hot Springs (61 kilometres east of Jasper). Miette has the warmest mineral waters in the Canadian Rockies.

Nearby Jasper, you will find many beautiful lakes such as Patricia and Pyramid Lakes, and Lakes Annette and Edith.
